Everything you need to know about Donkey Kong in just over one minute. I used to play Donkey Kong when I was kid. Wasted way to many quarters on the game.
Ever wonder what video game characters do when the game is off? Well here is your chance to find out. The video is in French with subtitles. An excellent video.
I wasted a large amount of time in University playing Tetris. I still play it occasionally but not like I used to. It was fun to watch this video, and of course I had to go and play Tetris for a little while after I saw it. I had nothing better to do tonight anyways.
Once again I am amazed at how popular the Super Mario theme is. It simply astounds me. Who thought of playing it as a big band like this? Did they lose there job? Was it a hit? So many unanswered questions. It is pretty fun to watch though.
My family had a pong game when I was a kid. I was a little to young to play it from what I remember but I am sure my sisters might have a different version of the story. For all of those people out there that are not as old as, if you want to know more about the history of video games and pong you can learn some more at Wikipedia. I thought this video was interesting because they programmed the game to fit the space of the building, so the windows and walls of the building is the area that game is played in.
What do arcade legends do when the quarters stop coming in on their game? Take regular jobs I guess. Here is what happened to the guys from Double Dragon.
I remember playing Double Dragon in the arcade. It was the only fighting game that I was half decent at. Don't think I would want to work at this office though.
Who came up with this? I laughed so loud as i watched this that my wife was wondering what the heck was happening. I would never have thought that watching a live action version of Pac Man would make me laugh so hard. I don't want to give it away but when Pac Man gets caught it is just hilarious, at least it is for me tonight.
I am not sure how it happened that the theme to Mario has become a cultural icon, but it seems to be everywhere. How did the theme song to a video game get to be so popular? In any case this is a group from Berkeley singing the Mario theme song acappella.
Another video game I was good at as a kid. I even remember having a pong game machine. It was so cool at the time, then Intelivision and Atari consoles came out and the pong machine got put away. How many hours did I waste playing games like this. It was fun at the time anyways. This is another human stop motion animation, like the Space Invaders video I posted earlier in the week. Just fun stuff.
Space Invaders, now there is a video game that I was good at. I could play it for hours when I was younger. Someone decided it would be fun to create an animation of the classic space invaders video game using real people. Thought it was well done and it takes me back.
Somebody had way to much time on their hands and created a virtual reality setup to play Super Mario Brothers with. I have enough trouble playing Mario, let alone with a virtual reality setup. I was pretty good in the original, but not anymore. I wonder if they passed their classes since they probably spent a lot of time doing this.
Some classic video games redone using stop motion animation. My favourite was the frogger one, I really sucked at that game for some reason, could never get him across safely. Oh well.
This is funny. Some people are really creative when it comes to their videos. This shows what life might be like for a generations favourite video game hero "Mario". Very creatively done and had me laughing out loud.
I don't usually care for the video game videos that you see a lot of. Most of them are just violent and really have no point, but this one caught my eye. It is a nice retrospective of all the important Mario video games, by what appears to be a die hard fan.
I have a thing for old home consoles. Probably me just trying to relive my childhood or something. I never had an Atari, had an Intellivision instead, but would often play Atari games over at friends houses. Here in a television commercial for the one of the classic Atari video games, "Yars Revenge".
Anyone play computer games on the Mac? Here is a frustrated gamer that voices his opinion about the game support on Macintosh. Has it gotten any better since OS X has come out?
I loved the Lemmings video game. Ok well maybe loved is a bit strong but I sure enjoyed wasting many hours playing it. Here is a great little animation based on the Lemmings video game. It will have you wanting to play the game all over again, so go and check out DHTML Lemmings and waste a few minutes (hours) playing.
