I thought this video was very touching. It did not end the way I expected, but that was a good thing. A very touching story in only four and a half minutes.
I have been sick the last few days so no witty commentary today ;).
From the description: Twit Twit tells the story of Charlie, a robot traveling in the far west desert on his Twit Twit (pronounced "Tweet Tweet", it's the name we gave to the hand car because of the sound it does !)
It has been awhile since I posted a good animated short. I have watched it several times this evening but I am just at a lose for words to review it. I guess you will just have to watch and do the review in the comments.
Here is a great short film for you tonight. It also features some incredible animation that looks very real.
This is made by 18 year old Colin Levy. You can see more of his work and learn more about him over on his website, Peerless Productions.
From the description of the video:
I've been working on it for almost two years - shooting and reshooting, developing the cg elements, editing and animating, etc.. If I had known it was going to take so long I probably would never have started. But in any case, I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and above all, I'm just glad it's finally finished!
Mr. Deity gets the tour of hell and hears some of the plans that they have for those that will be cast down. He also discovers there has been a little mix up with Larry about who is destined for the weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I can across a whole series of videos today called Mr. Deity. These videos are really creative with some very good writing and acting. Get an inside look of what it is like to be Mr. Deity. You can learn more about the videos at the Mr. Deity website.

This is a live action version of the Pixar animated short film of the same name. I am very impressed with the work they did on this. I checked out the clip from Pixar of Geri's Game, unfortunately it is only a few minutes, but the live action version is better in many ways. I have to give a hand to the makers they did a great job.
An animated short film from the German Film School. The story of Pierre the penguin and Boris the bear, trying to catch a fish. Overall a very well done animation. I like the accents that the characters have, gave me a little chuckle.
Everyone loves a love story. I was thinking about Valentine's day coming up, and what to do for my loving wife. I will probably get her a single red rose, since I know she likes them but she does not like the expense of a whole dozen. Roses mean something special to the ones we love and care about, and the lead character in this video knows that. A very touching love story with and open ending. Do they get together in the end?
It is very cold here these days. We had a high of -23°C, then add the wind chill on top it was close to -40°C. What does any of that have to do with this video, well our back door is not closing very well and we could just use a new door there. I guess we should head on down to the Door Store and pick on up.
I don't know if I would even bother going to class if I woke up that late. I would roll over and go back to bed. Actually I know for a fact I would just roll over and go back to sleep, since that is exactly what I did. Those 8:30am classes were killers when it is -30 Celsius outside.
We have all had this happen to us. Finally it is recorded on video for all of us to learn more about the "10 Stages of Opening a Jar". From the description of the video:
A visually stunning look at the 10 emotions we all go through to open tightly sealed jars.
It is a unique idea and a funny video. Makes me want to go and have chips and salsa now...mmm chips and salsa.
I don't read as much as I used to. I think it is because I had to read so much in University I just got tired of it. I do read a lot on line, does that count? In any case this video summarizes the 12 books of Lemony Snicket in 120 seconds. Great now I don't have to read them, but I am sure the video leaves something out.
The professor tells the real story of what happen on Gilligan's Island. I always knew it was not as pretty as they made it seem on the show. Now the real story comes out. A very well done short. The style reminds me of "The Blair Witch Project". Hopefully that is what he was going for. Very creative idea and writing.
Seasons greetings from Erma and Milton. This is really quite funy. It is done by the same DCLugi on YouTube. I have posted some of his videos here before. A.D.D. Shopping Network and Classic TV. DCLugi is becoming a regular for me when I visit YouTube to see if there is anything new. Some excellent work.
I just thought this was funny. I know some people like this. They can't stay focused on one thing longer than 30 seconds. Imagine if TV was like this all the time? Of course MTV is like this all the time.
Warning: Might have some language not appropriate for kids.
I have to say this is probably how I felt trying to solve my Rubic cube. I solved the thing alright, a screw driver and a few screws later and the things was right back to the way it was suppose to be. Another great short film from the Vancouver Film School though. They create some fantastic work.
I am feeling a little blue today. Don't really know why, just tired mostly I think. Anyways, I came across this excellent short film called "Smiling Addiction" and I thought it was really interesting. Our society often tells us that it is not ok to be sad or blue. We are suppose to be happy all the time and we do a lot of things to try and make us happy.
The tales a pumpkin can tell. This fun short film shows us the life of a pumpkin from a the pumpkins point of view. You might just change your mind about carving your pumpkin after watching this.
Once in a while iFilm has some good stuff. This is a great short film about a man and his attempt to trap a mouse, or is it a story about a mouse trying to trap a man. In any case, I am sure you will enjoy it.
This short film is just fun to watch. They did not a bad job of making it look smooth, you will understand that once you watch the video. I don't want to give it all away.
This short video is based on Edgar Allan Poe's Tell Tale Heart. I remember reading it in High School all those many years ago. I enjoy the short film and thought it was well done. The editing and quick cuts really help bring out the ticking for me.
A very well done animated short film featuring vegetables. It is the story of Oedipus in eight minutes. You can learn more about this animated short film at the official website. If you would like to learn more about Oedipus, check Wikipedia.
Warning: Some scenes might not be appropriate for children.
This is an excellent animated short about an older gentleman and his hobby of photography. I don't want to give to much away, you'll have to watch. A very enjoyable video for a Friday afternoon.
This is a great animation, but I must admit I enjoyed the first half of the animation more than the second. It is very well done though and well worth your four minutes to watch.
Part one of Padawan John. Padawan John is a Star Wars fan-made trilogy of short films about a Jedi Padawan who is not very good at what he does. In Episode III.I we are introduced to Padawan John, Master Bai Teur and Cadmium.
I like it when I come across fun short films. This one is about Pirates and was created during the Phoenix Film Foundation's "48 Hour Film Challenge". These guys just look like they had a blast making it.
A Canadian short movie about two violin players having a musical duel to impress one attractive lady at a subway station. According to the description this was shown on the Bravo channel. A very well done video and some great violin playing.
Get up and dance! A fun short film about a customers interesting reaction to a record in the store. The employees just have to listen to it after he leaves and have their own reaction.
I get swamped with information some days, and I find I just don't know where to start on things. I am sure many people know what that is like. That is the sense I got from this short film.
This is a little dark and mysterious, and it does not really make much sense until the end, so you have to watch and wait to sort of understand this short film.
This is a great short film. I got a real good laugh out of it. Remember with great power comes great responsibility, that is what this little girl learns as she tries to get rid of some bedhead.
A short film about a young man that decides to follow his dream of being a country star. A very well done short film that is very enjoyable. Great for a Sunday morning.
I have said before that I like silent movies. Here is another short silent movie film that I have enjoyed today.
From the description:
At the moment of truth, we always show our true nature.
A short silent film made in beautiful Pacific Grove, CA. It was born in a coffee shop with rough drawings on napkins and excellent coffee. It took us a couple of hours to shoot it and about one week to edit and finish it.
I found this video very interesting. That part of me that studied Psychology just had to watch it, even though I found it kind of disturbing. I can only imagine the struggle that it must be for people that are schizophrenic. Take the medication and have the voices disappear but still not feel quite right or don't take the medication and have voices disturbing your reality. It must be maddening.
From the description:
Short film that tells the story of a young schizophrenics struggle to medicate.
Warning: This is disturbing and contains violence.
I have had this in my draft folder for quite a while and finally got around to watching it. It is a great short film that is set in 1944 during the Second World War. It is roughly 20 minutes long, and well worth watching. The second video is the directors commentary is roughly 12 minutes long. Watch the commentary after you watch the short film.
I am still not sure what to make of this animation. It is dark and mysterious, and after watching it several times with it being in my draft queue I am just not sure what to say about the video. I like the animation, but I am still not sure what to make of it.
This video is funny. Imagine a zombie that can't eat people. The dialog reminds me of Clerks and made me laugh out loud. I thought it was really funny that he had a problem looking about her kitchen even though they broke into her house and killed her.
From the videos description:
Hilarity ensues when one zombie decides that humans are not his main choice for a snack.
Warning: Not good for the little ones, contains some gross scenes.
This is a pretty dark comedy, but very well made and an excellent short film. It is roughly 33 minutes long and I think worth your time to watch.
From the videos description:
Raul Sanchez gets his first professional flying job - to fly a corpse, alone in the dark, in a storm at 8,000 feet, to an out-of-state mortuary. A few changes in air pressure, a little rigor mortis problem and some monsoon turbulence don't help Raul look at this restless corpse like it's just another box - it's war!
Warning: Probably not good for little ones to watch.
A short film about a young man struggling with heartbreak after his girlfriend breaks up with him and how he deals with it. I thought they did a very good job in the video. The acting is well done and you get a real sense that he is having a hard time with things. I must admit that at one point I just wanted to yell at him to GET OVER IT, but I refrained.
Warning, look out for falling airplanes! The classic story of a guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. Does insurance cover your car repairs when something like this happens t
