OK Go - Treadmill Dance

This has to be the most creative use of treadmills I have ever seen.

Molson Beaver

I must be in a strange mood tonight because for some reason this ad made me laugh. Go get beaver!

Krapooyo

The tale of a young fruit (according to the description that is what it is) and how he discovers life. I got a little chuckle out of it.

Pirate Booty

I like it when I come across fun short films. This one is about Pirates and was created during the Phoenix Film Foundation's "48 Hour Film Challenge". These guys just look like they had a blast making it.

Warning: Short shot of a butt at the end.

Dancing Fiat

This is fun and shows some pretty good special effects. Amazing what people can do if they want to. This kind of thing would have been close to impossible 10 years ago for a home user.

Cat Wheel by Richard Norton

Awesome! Now if I could just get my cats to learn how to do that. Even by feeding them I think they are to stubborn to walk on a wheel.

Monty Python - Argument Clinic

Yes it is! No it isn't! Yes it is! No it isn't! I could be arguing in my spare time.....Funny stuff! No it isn't. Yes it is!

Monty Python - Ministry of Silly Walks

You have to love John Cleese in this sketch. People try to duplicate his silly walk but no one can do it like he can.

Monty Python - The Lumberjack Song

Every fan of Monty Python knows the Lumberjack song off by heart I think. Come on you all know it, sing along. You know you want to. "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm ok..."

Monty Python - The Parrot Sketch

The classic Parrot Sketch! How am I suppose to write anything when I am laughing so hard I can barely type.

Monty Python - Spam

This is a great sketch, one of my favourites. I was reminded of it sorting through my inbox today. It just feels like a Monty Python day today. Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam!

A Pittance of Time by Terry Kelly

I was originally sent this video for Remembrance Day a couple of years ago and I am happy that I am able to share it with you here. What a great tribute to our veterans.

From the videos description:
On November 11, 1999 Terry Kelly was in a Shoppers Drug Mart store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At 10:55 AM an announcement came over the stores PA asking customers who would still be on the premises at 11:00 AM to give two minutes of silence in respect to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for us. When eleven o'clock arrived on that day, an announcement was again made asking for the "two minutes of silence" to commence. All customers, with the exception of a man who was accompanied by his young child, showed their respect.
Terry's anger towards the father for trying to engage the stores clerk in conversation and for setting a bad example for his child was channeled into a beautiful piece of work called, "A Pittance of Time".

Fenno the Kitten

Thought this was cute this evening.

Johnny Cash on the Muppet Show

The Muppets and Johnny Cash. It is a pretty funny clip. I love how Ralph the Dog (I think that is his name) takes it and starts to defend himself.

ReAl CoLA

A fake commercial made using stop motion animation. The description says they used over 700 images. I don't know if I would buy the cola but I enjoyed the video.

The Flintstones - TV Show Opening

Ever since Friday night I have been feeling a little nostalgic. I used to watch the Flintstones every lunch break when I was a kid. Thought I would post the opening to the Flintstones just for old time sake.

Kitty Coma

This cat looks totally dead, but is just sleeping. I have never seen a cat sleep that deep before. Usually you make a small noise and cats wake up.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my sixth wedding anniversary and I thought since I was posting music videos I would post the music videos of the songs that we played at our wedding. I could not find our song, "If You Could See What I See" by Geoff Moore and the Distance, but I was able to find Savage Garden and Lonestar. Happy Anniversary! Love Always!

Savage Garden Truly Madly Deeply

Lonestar - Amazed

Friday Night Videos - Cindy Lauper Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Well thanks for joining me on this little tour down memory lane on a Friday night. This last video was a favourite of the girls that I went to school with. It is a fun song and video. Heard it on the radio today along with news that the radio station was going to be interviewing Cindy Lauper tomorrow.

Friday Night Videos - Rockwell Somebody's Watching Me

This video is probably more true today than it was in the 80s. We are watched all the time all over, or maybe I am getting paranoid or tired, or both.

Friday Night Videos - Nena 99 Luftballons

I remember this song and wondering what the heck they were singing about, but it was a fun song to dance to at high school dances.

Friday Night Videos - Van Halen Jump

I have loved this song since I was a kid! It is just fun and a great car tune for those trips to work or home. Keeps you going!

Friday Night Videos - ZZ Top Sharp Dressed Man

You have to love the car in this video. Always liked ZZ Top, they have such a great sound.

Friday Night Videos - Thomas Dolby Hyperactive!

This was a great video back in the 80s. I remember wondering how they did some of the effects in it. Of course these days there is nothing special about them. Fun video

Friday Night Videos - 38 Special Back Where You Belong

This was a great some by 38 Special. One of the few I actually liked besides Teacher Teacher.

Friday Night Videos - Genesis Illegal Alien

This is a great song from Genesis. I have this on vinyl somewhere.

Friday Night Videos - Queen Radio Ga Ga

The original video of Queens Radio Ga Ga!

Friday Night Videos

Before MTV was on the air and when I was a kid, all those many years ago, there was a show on TV called Friday Night Videos. I remember watching it late on Friday nights with the volume low so I would not wake anyone else in the house. I came across this intro to Friday Night Videos and thought I would create my own version here since I really don't feel like working any more this evening.

Save the Internet!

This video is focusing on the latest controversy called "Net Neutrality". Thought the video was interesting. Check out the website called Save the Internet for more information.

Sandwich Box

This is a commercial but it is a fun commercial, if you like stop motion animation and food. Two things I happen to like. It is a pretty creative commercial, beats the Subway commercials with that Jared guy in my opinion.

"Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: Just Another Day"

Had a very busy day yesterday, and just never got around to posting a video. Thought I would start today off with a more serious video about obsessive compulsive disorder. I thought it was interesting although a little disturbing at times.

Canadian Vignettes: Voyageurs

Have been visiting several of the local historical forts like Fort Carlton and Batoche lately. Somehow this video seems to make more sense to me now.

Classic TV

A remake of the opening of All in the Family. Does a pretty good job of it actually.

Little Big Love

A robot and a kettle, I have heard of stranger couples. For some reason I feel like I have seen this video before. Perhaps I posted it before under a different title. I will have to look some more. Very well done and gave me a chuckle once of twice.

Egg

Here is an interesting animated video about a young bird and his experiences in the world. I watched it several times to get a better idea of what to say, and from what I can tell the video is trying to say something about how we pollute our planet, but maybe it is just suppose to be fun. I guess only the people that made the video know that. It is a really well done video and worth watching.

Insane NYC Bike Race

These guys are insane! It is one thing to ride your bike through New York city, but the way the race through the city is nuts. The streets are not blocked off, there is traffic and people all along the route and they don't pay much attention to traffic lights.

Ryan Leech

This guy is absolutely incredible on his bike. Some of the places he balances are amazing. I am speechless, you have to watch the video to see what he does on his bike.

Corona Station

A Canadian short movie about two violin players having a musical duel to impress one attractive lady at a subway station. According to the description this was shown on the Bravo channel. A very well done video and some great violin playing.

Antarctica Time-lapse: A Year on Ice

A very cool (no pun intended) time-lapse video of Antarctica! This was taken in and around McMurdo Station and Scott Base. Good selection of music and a very interesting watch.

Do A Little Dance - Bernhard Pucher

Get up and dance! A fun short film about a customers interesting reaction to a record in the store. The employees just have to listen to it after he leaves and have their own reaction.

Microsoft Shares Your Pain

Microsoft programmers are tortured when their code in Microsoft programs crash. If this were true there are going to be programmers dying over at Microsoft when security holes are found. Microsoft should share their money for all the time they have wasted in peoples lives, that might ease the pain in their users lives. Anyways, thought it was funny.

Clipart Movie

Someone had way to much time on their hands, and now I have no choice but to sit here and write about it and show you the work that came out of them having to much time on their hands wasting my time and soon your time. The video itself is a little hypnotic though.

Note: No sound.

Lightning Strikes A Car

This is closer than I ever want to get to lightning. I am surprised the car kept running after it was hit. What are the odds that they just happened to be recording when this happened. Why were they recording the trip in the rain in the first place. I ramble on sometimes, but that is the way it goes.

Howling Frog

This guys frog just howls. I have never seen anything like that before and had to post it. Pretty cute frog, as frogs go I guess, or is it a toad? Anybody know?

Recliner

A very well done animation about a depressed guy who finds a recliner on his way home. Amazing how a recliner or a good couch can just make you feel better after a long day. I know after a long day nothing feels much better than laying down of the couch and relaxing.

The Weakest Link - Jesus Special

The disciples playing "The Weakest Link". Who is the weakest disciple? Who is the weakest link?

9 Months of Gestation in 20 Seconds!

Probably a good thing it does not happen this fast! You would not have time to paint the kids room and get all the things you are going to need. A fun time-lapse video though, reminds me of my wife's pregnancy.

Christmas with the Doctors

I enjoy the Doctor Who series. I used to watch it in reruns as a kid, and the new ones have been very enjoyable. This video is a fan made Doctor Who video where several of the Doctors are together for Christmas. The do a good job of portraying the different Doctors and it is quite funny.

World's Finest

For all of the Batman and Superman fans out there I found this very cool fan trailer for a Batman, Superman movie. It is very well done and at the end of it you really wish that the movie was being made because the trailer is so well done.

Kite (1999)

This is a very nice relaxing animation. It is really beautiful. I love the colours and music that was chosen to for it. A very well done animation. It is like watching a beautiful painting come to life!

Messing with the Wong Guy

No the title is not a typo, that is the name of the video. This guy has some serious issues with a fly in his place. Pretty well done and it gave me a laugh today after a long day of coding.

Obi-Wan Goes To Buy A Car

The poor used car salesman in this video, they just sit back at the end and laugh at the whole thing. Very creative though. I wonder if it was part of a TV show or something. It has a TV prank show feel to it.

Talented Koneko

Time for a cute kitten video. This little kitten can play the keyboard, and is pretty cute doing it. I am surprised she is not scared by the music. My cats would jump through the roof.

Lithium 101: About Lithium the Metal & Bipolar Disorder

Time to learn something here today. I just happened to stumble across this video while doing a regular search on Youtube. Everything you ever wanted to know about lithium. I particularly liked the opening warning in the video telling you not to go and lick lithium batteries to calm yourself.

Girl Takes Picture of Herself Every Day for Three Years

This time-lapse video took some real commitment. It is made up of a single photograph taken once a day for three years. It is really interesting to see how she changed in the three years.

The Hamster Dance

I knew this was popular a few years ago but it turned up on the Google Video Movers and Shakers list again. Is it coming back?If so, please God make it stop! Ahhhh, get that song out of my head!

Iceberg

The other side of the Titanic's fateful voyage. A great claymation telling the story of animals. This is really well done and a great parody of Titanic.

A Hard Day's Night

It has been a long day of work today. For some reason this song has been going though my head for the last few hours. I have not heard it in a while, but I guess it seems to fit my mood tonight. I have quite a bit of work to do yet tonight, so it will be a long night.

Darth Vader Goes on Blind Date

What is Darth Vader like on a blind date? Watch and find out. Funny idea, and it made me chuckle as I get set to call it a night.

Wakeup Call

I shy away from politics usually but occasionally I find a video about politics that I just can't resist posting. The fact that this is a mashup between one of my favourite muppet songs and bloopers from President Bush made it irresistible.

A Quiet Film About Information

I get swamped with information some days, and I find I just don't know where to start on things. I am sure many people know what that is like. That is the sense I got from this short film.

Passer

This animated video reminded me of some of the Canadian National Film Board videos that I used to see on CBC occasionally. I like the style, something about it that is missing in the computer generated animations.

Hiroshima Tribute

Today, August 6th is the anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. This Day in History has a nice little write up about the event.

On this day in 1945, at 8:16 a.m. Japanese time, an American B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay, drops the world's first atom bomb, over the city of Hiroshima

The CBC website also has a very good write up on the events and some of the aftermath of the dropping of the bomb in people from Hiroshima that survived.

I thought the video below did a good job of telling the story in a quick way. Hopefully we never do this to ourselves again!

Darth Vader Being a Smartass

Time for a funny Star Wars edit. Here is Darth Vadar acting immature with one of his officers.

Microsoft Windows 1.0

If only we could go back in time and stop Windows from happening. We would probably all be better off. Then, maybe Apple would have become more popular and they would never have done anything innovative, and we would be stuck with Apple OS 7 or something worse.

Confessions of a Wal-Mart Hit Man

I found this video interesting to watch. I often thought that many companies not just Wal-Mart treat their employees poorly and don't really care about them, and that it is just either about the bottom line. When will organizations realize that they are only as good as the people that work for them. You can find out more about this video at www.walmartmovie.com.

From the description:
Extended Bonus Scenes From
Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price
a Robert Greenwald Film.

Apostle

This is a little dark and mysterious, and it does not really make much sense until the end, so you have to watch and wait to sort of understand this short film.

Warning: Deals with mature subject matter.

Whiteout

Talk about a hard core surfer! The wave is huge and he just keeps on going. I just thought this video was incredible. This was filmed from a helicopter apparently, but watch the wave, at one point you are looking up at it.

Diversion

A fun short film where road signs come to life and are wandering around the countryside. Enjoyable for a Friday afternoon before a long weekend.

Simpsons Intro in 3D

There was "The Simpsons Come to Life", and then "The Simpsons: Real Life Vs. Cartoon", now there is a Simpsons intro that is done in 3d modeling! I thought it is very well done. I wonder if they person who made it is looking for a job as a 3d animator? Probably, good luck to them.

The Blues Brothers Final Chase

This is one of the best car chase scenes in movie history in my opinion. Roughly eight and a half minutes long and nothing but car chase mayhem!

Warning: This is violent.

Bedhead

This is a great short film. I got a real good laugh out of it. Remember with great power comes great responsibility, that is what this little girl learns as she tries to get rid of some bedhead.

Scuba Cat!

A cat that likes to swim, and even goes underwater! Amazing! My cats won't get close to a bathtub, and would not even think about getting into it.

Star Wars: The Han Solo Affair

Time for a Lego Star Wars animation. These are not so much Lego animations as they are computer animations, with the characters looking like Legos. This is a fun one though. I have enjoyed it many times already today.

Jack In the Box

I found this on Google Video today and thought it was a pretty funny animation. It has some foul language but it is not to bad. I just can't imagine Jack Nicholson working at a fast food restaurant, but funny stuff.

Warning: Some foul language.

Star Wars Theme on a Banjo

Sorry about missing Monday everyone. I was away and could not get to a computer long enough to get a post in. I'll try and make up for it today. To start today we have the Star Wars theme song being played on a banjo. Thought it was pretty creative and he plays it well, although I must admit I had trouble telling that it was the Star Wars theme just because it was being played on a banjo.

Town Planner

A short film about a young man that decides to follow his dream of being a country star. A very well done short film that is very enjoyable. Great for a Sunday morning.

Windows Vista Speech Recognition, NOT!

A recent demonstration of Windows Vista's speech recognition program that went wrong. You have to wonder if they will ever get Vista good enough to be released. It is reasons like this that I doubt I will ever use Vista, I think I will put a version of Linux on my next computer and kiss Windows goodbye forever.

My Animated World

Here is a fun stop motion animation. You have to like the video game sounds that they used. While this is certainly enjoyable, the Art of Motion stop motion video I think is probably a little better.

Star Wars Screen Test

This video has been in my draft folder for awhile. I don't know why I have not posted it until now. Perhaps becuase I saw this video quite a while ago and thought most people have probably seen it by now. It is a great video though of impressions of various stars doing screen tests for Star Wars characters. My favourite is the last one. I won't give it away, you will have to watch to see who it is.

Warning: Some foul language.

Weebl and Bob - Monkey

This is just a silly little animated video for a Friday afternoon. It made me laugh, although I don't know why.

The Rainbow Connection

Kermit the Frog playing and singing the Rainbow Connection. Truly a classic Muppet song. I remember learning how to play it on the ukelele in grade school. I don't think it sounded as good as Kermit's version though.

Silent Cry

I have said before that I like silent movies. Here is another short silent movie film that I have enjoyed today.

From the description:
At the moment of truth, we always show our true nature.

A short silent film made in beautiful Pacific Grove, CA. It was born in a coffee shop with rough drawings on napkins and excellent coffee. It took us a couple of hours to shoot it and about one week to edit and finish it.

KRUPS Espresso Shorts - Espresso Giuseppe

A fun short film about a man that is just not made to be in a cubicle.

Sand Animation

Posting really late today. It has been a really go kind of day, and I finally got to sit down and look for some videos. I came across this interesting video of a person doing sand art. I thought it was pretty interesting. I find it really quite amazing how they do this.

There are quite a few so you will be treated to a few extra video posts today. Hope you enjoy Purple and Brown Day!
